Why I Did Not Watch the Debate
I did not watch the debate for several reasons. One being I knew would get the recap in various formats the next day. The consensus on who won the debate was Harris wiped the floor with Trump’s backside. This included from conservative commentators who were careful in their wording, but agreed Trump did poorly. Liberal commentators were almost giddy in Harris’s performance. Essentially, in Olympic terms, Harris won the gold, silver and bronze medals and Trump got a participation ribbon for being in the same room while she tore him a new one.
A second reason was I knew Trump would lie. There is a difference between a political spin on an issue and an out and outright lie. One lie was about Springfield, Ohio. Trump said Haitian immigrants were stealing and eating peoples pets. That was a surprise to all that live in Springfield. A spokesperson for city said Trumps statement was false, or in other words, a lie. Another of the many lies from Trump was that Germany was going back to fossil fuels. Germany issued an official rebuke stating: “Germany’s energy system is fully operational, with more than 50% renewables. And we are shutting down – not building – coal & nuclear plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest.”
Springfield also found out what it is like to be a consequence of one of Trump’s many lies. After the debate some of the Springfield schools were closed due to bomb threats. In addition, several city commissioners and city employees received death threats. Some Trump supporters will say it’s no big deal. I would say this is another lie. There is no telling what a Trump crazy will do when inspired by one of Trump’s lies. What if someone in Springfield had been killed by a Trump crazy.
Interestingly, the woman who started the lie with a FB post said it was based on rumor she heard and now she regrets the post. That’s sad. What is even sadder is a former President and possibly future President of the US repeated what was initially a rumor, a false rumor on FB as fact. What is most sad is people, knowing he is a liar, will still vote for him.
Think about it, Trump’s lie on eating pets put school children in Springfield at risk. Trump’s lie on fossil fuel in Germany put all children at risk. The increasing frequency and cost of natural disasters is a consequence climate change change which is driven by fossil fuel consumption. Germany is on the right path and Trump lies regarding their progress puts today’s and tomorrow’s children at increased risk from climate change.
The primary reason I did not watch is on my voting priorities, I already new the answers to my primary concerns.
Climate Change: Harris
Women’s Rights: Harris
Gun Violence: Harris
Federal Deficit: Harris [Note: Harris will increase taxes on the most wealthy in the US while Trump will decrease them. Trump’s tax cuts during his Presidency is one of the reasons the Federal Deficit increased almost $8 Trillion during his four years.]
Public Education: Harris
Economic Growth: Harris. [Note: Harris will continue what Biden started, a significant and ongoing investment in infrastructure and renewable energy. This increases jobs today and stabilized US infrastructure and energy sources going forward.]
Bill of Rights: Harris
In less than two months the National Election will be held. It is very possible Trump will win. If the country elects Trump, that means the US has elected a proven liar as president. With no evidence, and over whelming evidence to the contrary, Trump has continued to lie about the last the last election. Trump has been convicted by a jury of his peers regarding committing fraud and lost a civil suit. Both evidence of his continual lies.
No, I did not watch the debates. I know he is wrong on all the issues that important to me. I know he has no moral or ethic. I know he is a proven lier. I hope Trump supporters will change their minds by looking at the evidence and vote for Harris. If there are any of the fence, vote Harris, Trump has nothing to offer you or the country.
