The US Two New Political Parties

I believe we have two new political parties. Having different political parties is not new to America. We have had many Parties in our history.

The MAGA Party
I would suggest one Political Party is the MAGA Party which includes MAGA Republicans, white suprematists, evangelicals, sexists and racists. They are funded by billionaires. MAGAs excel at making billionaire richer. They are the Spend and Borrow Party. 35% of the total Federal Deficit, almost $14 Trillion, has come from the Trump Presidency.

MAGAs support tariffs which some studies indicate have cost American households as much as $2,500 annually. It is estimated the war with Iran has cost almost $200 Billion so far and some economists project the long-term cost will approach $1 Trillion. Keep in mind we are still paying interest on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

MAGAs support turning ICE into a paramilitary organization and the murder of two US citizens along with detaining over 60,000 individuals of which over 70% have no criminal record. They support wealthy individuals convicted of fraud being pardoned by the President.

Going against overwhelming scientific opinion and ignoring the increasing costs of natural disasters, MAGAs believe climate change is a hoax. They do not support public education or public health care. The US has the most expensive inefficient health care of any developed country and MAGAs fight the necessary changes. MAGA’s support cuts in scientific and health care research funding including cuts to cancer research. They support selling public lands to the wealthy, and defunding National Parks.

Finally MAGAs support an autocratic government and with absolutely no supporting evidence and overwhelming evidence to the contrary, continue to falsely claim election fraud in 2020.

The Other Party
The other party includes non-MAGA Republicans, Democrats, Independents and those who believe they are not political. For simplicity, let’s call them the American Party. Note, there is no neutrality any more. You either belong to the MAGA or American Party. For those who do not vote and believe you are not political, by no voting you support the MAGA Party.

Americans support investing US tax dollars into making America better for all Americans. They know that tariffs were beyond stupid and have a substantial negative affect on the quality of life for average US citizens. They oppose dumb expensive wars. They support gun laws which protect children and all citizens. They oppose ICE becoming a paramilitary organization and killing US citizens.

They support equality, diversity, public health, public education, public lands, and National Parks. Americans support women’s rights to make their own health care decisions, an individuals right to choose their own sexuality.

The American Party believes in democracy and that each US citizen should have easy access to voting which includes but not limited to mail-in voting. They do not want a government controlled by the very wealthy and understand that Super-Pacs funded by billionaires are a threat to democracy. Finally Americans believe in the Bill of Right along with the promises made in the Declaration of Independence.

Original Parties
The first American political Party was the Federalist Party led by Alexander Hamilton and John Adams. It supported a strong federal government with limited power to state governments, development of industrial and commercial economy, and was supported by wealthy individuals. They were somewhat like the MAGA Republican Party today, benefit the rich, screw the poor.

A second Party was the Democratic-Republican Party was led by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. They favored a decentralized federal government and personal civil liberties. Their base included commoners, farmers, artisans, and frontier settlers. I doubt if eitherJefferson or Madison would have been excited about the current Democratic Party, but I am very confident they would have detested the current Republican Party. I suspect Jefferson would have been especially PO’d when he learned current Republican evangelists believe the US was founded as a Christian nation. Jefferson, as written into the Bill of Rights and other documents absolutely believed in the separation of church and state.

Additional early Parties were the Whig Party, the Anti-Masonic Party and the Liberty Party. The Whig Party opposed the policies of Andrew Jackson who they believed wanted to become a King. They supported rule of law, individual liberty, and representative democracy. They would be the anti-Trumpers of today’s world.

The Anti-Masonic Party opposed the Free Masons which they believed to be a secret organization with great political party. The Liberty Party wanted to abolish slavery. I doubt if any MAGA Republicans would be welcome in either party.

Summary
Today, every US citizen is in one or the other party, MAGA or American. If you are an Independent like me, you are in one or the other. If you do not like politics, you are in on or the other.

Specifically, who you vote for or don’t for is who you are. I do not believe there is any compromise between the MAGA and American Parties. If MAGA wins we will continue to move towards a autocratic feudalistic government. If America wins, we will begin moving back towards a true democracy and an equal opportunity capitalistic economic system.
