Trump/Maga Posts
A few months ago, I started saving some of the posts I saw. Some were funny, some were thoughtful, some were sad, and some were inspirational. Following are a few of them. [FYI, when possible, I listed the person making the quote. Thought I suspect there is truth to all of them, I did not fact check.]
We have to stop saying “how stupid can you be?” Too many people see it as a challenge.
Theodore Roosevelt: “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but morally treasonable to the American public.
So let me get this straight. Soybeans could have been profitable like every other year but instead Trump killed the market with tariffs on China and then we gave $40 billion to Argentina who China went to for soybeans instead. Now Trump is bailing out farmers with tariff tax money taken from every American’s pocket, using socialism to fix a problem he created in the first place.
Soybean farmer: “I get up one morning, I turn the news on and we gave $20 billion of taxpayer money to Argentina. my competition. And then the Chinese buy $12 billion or $14 billion worth of soybeans from the Argentinians.
Dana Goldberg: “I heard when they gave Trump his scheduled colonoscopy, they fund two polyps, some hemorrhoids, and most of the Republican Party.”
Ronald Reagan: “Anyone from any corner of the Earth can come to live in America and become an American.
Jimmy Carter: A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentile, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It’s a weak nation like a weak person, that must behave with bluster boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.
Here’s the entire Venezuela breakdown: They hold 17% of the world’s oil reserves, worth $18 trillion. A total of zero percent of the fentanyl seized by US officials originates in Venezuela. That’s the whole lesson.
Miles K Davis: “You can tell a bully from a leader by how they treat people who disagree with them”
The Trump regime has become a living experiment to prove actually DEI did work better, and is a superior approach to hiring incompetent mediocre white men, who only got their job because of who they know and being a big kiss ass.
Republicans have $200 million for a ballroom. $1 billion for a new jet and $72 million for endless golf trips. They have money to give ICE $50,000 bonuses. They have $1 million per day to occupy American cities. They have $3.8 billion to send Israel weapons and $40 billion to bailout Argentina. But there’s no money for health care.
Gavin Newsom: “California proves $83.1 billion more than we receive from the federal government. Texas? Receives $72.1 Billion more than they provide to the federal government. 71% of the US GDP comes from Blue Counties.”
If liberals are “lazy moochers”, then tell me: Why are 95% of the poorest counties Republican? Why are 8 out of 10 of the poorest states Republican? Why do red states take more money from the government than they pay? So remind me again who are the “takers” are.
Robert Reich: Undocumented immigrants paid $97 billion in taxes in 2022. They contributed $26 billion to social security, which they can’t benefit from.”
A country run by banks will always be in debt. Healthcare run by big pharma will never cure disease. A state run by war will never know peace. A nation run by media will never know the truth.
Trump threw 15 million Americans off health care. He’s doubling premiums for 20 million. HE’s refusing to use a $5 billion emergency SNAP fund to feed 16 million kids. But the1% got to keep $1 trillion in tax breaks.
Max Kennedy: “A notable aspect of private health insurance is the absence of any reason for it to exist. It does not contain costs, expand coverage, or expedite health care-it makes those all worse. Its sole function is to profit as rent-seeking middleman between patients and providers.”
The US is the only country that employees more people in health insurance than as doctors and nurses. Most of your money is spent blocking your own medical care.
Universal health care is such a complex beast that only 32 of the world’s 33 developed nations have been able to make it work.
Anne Frank, 1943: “Terrible thinks are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families torn apart…children come home from school to find their parents have disappeared.”
Veteran detained by ICE: “I identified myself as a US citizen and a veteran, but that didn’t matter. Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray into my car, dragged me out. Even after I complied, I was taken to a detention center and held for 3 days without charges. No phone call, no lawyer, no medical are, even though my skin burned from the chemicals.”
If someone with education unable to speak English is able to walk across the border and take your job, and qualify for a loan to the home you wanted, we need to talk about upgrading your basic skills.
Trond Solberg: “Hi. Norwegian here. A big misconception abut social democracy is that everyone makes the same money and you can’t get rich. But Norway has wealthy people, entrepreneurs, successful CEOs. The difference is a janitor can afford healthcare. A teacher can afford a home. And the wealthy still live in a society that works. Social democracy doesn’t put a ceiling on wealth. It raises the floor.”
The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people healthcare, education, infrastructure, education to build a strong middle class. Trickle-down nonsense doesn’t grow anything.
If you make $60,000 a year, then paying for other people’s food stamps costs you about $36 an year. Welfare costs you around $37 a year. But you pay about $700 a year in corporate subsidies. Poor people are not the problem.
Since Donald Trump took office, the US national debt has surged by $2.2 trillion.
Never forget those days when enemies attacked our nation: December 7, September 11 and January 6.
Not knowing the truth makes you ignorant. Not wanting to know the truth is what makes you stupid.
