Portland, ICE, Trump, Republicans, Debate

As many know, the Trump/Republican government is offering $50,000 signing bonuses for new recruits. They also advertise excellent pay and benefits. Why is the Trump/Republican government doing this? For one reason and one reason only, to terrorize individuals and families in American cities who do not support Trump/Republican.

According to recent records found thru FOIA, Nationally about 70% of ICE arrests have no criminal convictions and only about 8% have convictions for serious crimes. With the computer data availability to ICE or any government agency for that matter, they know exactly which individuals have criminal records. This has nothing to do with public safety and is solely done with the purpose of public intimidation. Ice employees who wear masks are doing evil.

Portland is a current target. This has nothing to do with public safety and 100% with the intimidation of city. Portland is not perfect and certainly has problems like any other major city, but Portland is a wonderful city. I know because over the years I have spent considerable time in Portland. I have family and friends in Portland. The senior paster of a large church in Portland is a friend of mine. I have biked all over Portland, played golf and pickle ball. Walked and played in their parks. I have visited their Zoo and Rose Garden and watched their professional NBA and Women’s soccer teams play. Have been to many restaurants and coffee shops. Portland is for foodies and their coffee shops are extraordinary.

I am not the only one that believes this. Bloomberg recently named Portland as one of the top 15 US richest cities. One journal ranked Portland in top 100 of the world’s best cities.

Years ago when I first started to visit Portland I decided the overall general theme of the city is each and everyone can do their own thing as long as they follow two general rules, do your job whatever it is and be kind and accepting towards others.

So Trump, let me offer you this deal. I will meet you in Portland and we can have a public debate about the city and your policies. But there will be two rules.
1] I get to pick the moderator and anytime you go off topic or starting lies, the moderator will cut you off. I know several women in Portland who are professionals, make six figures and are gay. I am sure any of those would be excited to moderate our debate.
2] Anytime you tell a lie, I get to fire one of your Cabinet members and replace the position with an individual of my own choice. I am guessing we will have a totally new cabinet within twenty minutes.

For those who say I am not qualified to pick US Cabinet I would reply one could literally draw names of US citizens from throughout the country and get a better Cabinet then we have currently. For the record, my first criteria for any Cabinet member would be ten years of experience in that specific agency including five years in an administrative position.

The Trump attacks on Portland and other US cities are both illegal and evil. If either Obama or Biden had suggested anything similar Republicans would have literally had a hysterical fit. So looking the other way now makes Republicans completely and totally complicit. And for the record, neither Obama or Biden would have even considered such a thing because they valued American freedom, democracy and laws, something Trump is totally ignoring.

One last thought, Trump if you put my family and friends in danger I will fly or drive to Portland and be on the front lines opposing you. F-YOU you ignorant tyrant wanna be and all the horses you rode in on.
